Celonic Juelich receives GMP certificate
"We are not going to establish another production facility in Juelich", states Andreas Herrmann, managing director of Celonic. The one and only Celonic GMP production facility is located in Basel, giving home to a couple of bioreactors with a 300 L stirred vessel and a 1,000 L Wave bioreactor maximum size. "It is our aim to expand the analytical capacities in Juelich. Thus, Juelich has been certified for GMP as an analytical test facility." Since 3 years already, a number of GLP studies have been running successfully. A lot of assays have been implemented, especially immunological and cell-based assays. These assays can also be performed according to GMP in order to perform e.g. release analytics.

"It is the next step to offer a full range of analytical services during drug development. Pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics or toxicology - whatever our customers need: We want to be a reliable partner", Andreas Herrmann concludes.
