GLP analytics was a hot topic at Forum Life Science. Celonic has been establishing this business unit for two years now, applying highly innovative technologies like electrochemiluminescence. In the German-speaking world, Celonic belongs to a very small group of providers offering electrochemiluinescence services based on Meso Scale Discovery equipment. Electrochemiluinescence is highly sensitive and allows low quanities of sample volume, often a bottleneck in small animal experiments. Additonally, Celonic offers cell-based assays like e.g. apoptose / caspase, ADCC, CDCC.
Of course, the large pictures of Celonic's Basel based production facility attracted a number of questions. With capacities up to 1,000 liters in Wave bioreactors and 300 liters in stirred vessels, Celonic is the ideal partner for small and mid-sized biotech companies to produce their biopharmaceuticals according to GMP for clinical phases. CEO Dr. Andreas Herrmann was really content with the meeting in Garching: "Surprisingly we met most of the usual Biotechnica-visitors."
