Basel

On 1.500 sqm, Celonic is located right in the heart of Basel city, in the broader triangle where France, Germany and Switzerland intersect. The facility comprises 400 sqm clean rooms for GMP production with an option for further expansion. For GMP analytics and R&D extensive lab capacities are reserved and equipped according to technology standards. 

 
The GMP production can be offered up to 1.000 l scale in a wave bioreactor and up to 300 l in a stirred vessel. Further bioreactors in 2, 10, 20, 50 und 75 l scale (wave and stirred vessel) are available. An extension of the facility towards a 2.000 l stirred vessel is awaiting the co-financing agreement.

For downstream processing, state-of-the-art equipment is applied, e.g. tangential flow filtration for cell separation (Pall) and Akta-based Systems (GE Healthcare) for chromatographic separation. In analytics, we have established and qualified all analytic devices and methods necessary for characterisation of intermediates (e.g. HPAEC-PAD for glycoanalytics) and biologic Drug Substance.

Thus, Celonic’s Basel facility is fully equipped for production of biopharmaceutical products for clinical trials and commercial market. The clean rooms comprise 2 independent production suites for drug manufacture.

 

Your way to our Basel facility:


From airport: Get a ticket from the green ticket machine (TNV, payable in CHF or Euro) and take bus #50 direction Basel SBB (train station). Get off the bus at 6th bus stop „Brausebad“ and walk on via “Rütlistrasse”, “Austrasse” and “Spalentorweg” left hand into “Eulerstrasse”


With the car from the highway: Take exit “CITY-SÜD” direction “Kantonspital”, drive until “Spalentor” (Spalengate) 3 times left (1. into “Missionsstrasse”, 2. into “Socinstrasse” and 3. into “Eulerstrasse”)


From train station SSB: Get a ticket from the green ticket machine (TNV, payable in CHF or Euro) and take Tram #1 (direction „Dreirosenbrücke“) and get off at 4th stationen „Brausebad“. Walk on via “Austrasse” and “Socinstrasse” right hand into “Eulerstrasse”
