Launch of SEFEX:

The conventional development time of a regulatory conform production cell line including the adaptation to serum- or protein-free media takes up to 12 months. It bears the risks of a fail of the adaptation strategy, a drop of the cell-specific productivity or a change of product quality. To cope with these risks, Celonic developed the SEFEX technology that allows fast and regulatory compliant generation of cell lines for the production of biopharmaceutical proteins in serum-free medium. Applying this serum-free cultivation technology, a months earlier regulatory approval is achieved combined with dramatic decrease of risk. This technology has convinced a number of customers to run their projects with Celonic.
