Challenging positions in upstream processing
Electrochemiluminescence (ECL-ELISA)
Electrochemiluminescence is a highly sensitive method for the detection of diverse analytes based on ELISA technology. Antibodies, peptides or proteins, cells, membranes or nucleic acids can be measured with the help of ECL. A large detection range of up to 5 logs enables the quantification of native levels of biomarkers. Applying ECL, femtomolar amounts of analytes are no longer a challenge.
With the help of devices from Mesoscale Discovery (MSD®), we are able to measure pre-clinical and clinical relevant analytes by multiplexing in ultra-short time. MSD® kits ready for use enable the analysis of up to 10 substances at the same time parallel, e.g. humane cytokine assay or customized Cell Signaling Pathways. High throughput analysis of standard biomarkers can lead to time, cost and sample volume saving pending on method and test design. Low sample volumes are advantageous especially in preclinics when the availability of serum is limited. Generally, 25 μl per well on the micro titer plate are absolutely sufficient.
ECL does not only enable the measurement in serum. Other matrices like blood, plasma or urine hardly cause any problems. Standardized assay formates lead to stringent protocols in a GxP-compliant environment. If your assay is based on the application of another technology, don't worry: We can adapt it to the ECL platform without tremendous efforts. The cost for a conventional ELISA testing and a highly sensitive ECL measurement are really comparable at Celonic!
The technology is in the same way as for human samples applicable for samples from mouse, monkeys and other species. Please, see yourself! or Ask us!
Are you interested in the detection of anti-drug-antibodies during a preclinical study? May we help you to detect biomarkers when conventional analytical techniques face their limit of detection? Please let us know! We are the experts in ECL-ELISA.
