Upstream Processing (USP)

At Celonic, upstream processing comprises the adaptation to serum- and protein-free medium. Afterwards, optimal conditions are identified at small scale (medium, pH, pO2, supplements, perfusion rate, cell density). That is done with the help of a 16-multispinner system. The first upscaling moves from 10 to 20 liters, using wave bioreactors or stirred vessels, followed by a further upscaling to GMP-production. Celonic – your partner in integrative process development.
