Dr. Jacky Schmitt takes over the leadership of production as Vice-President of Production at Celonic Group’s sites

Short Bio:
Dr. Jacky Schmitt graduated in 1993 in Molecular Biology at the University Louis Pasteur from Strasbourg for a project performed at European Molecular Biology Laboratory in Heidelberg (Germany). Subsequently he performed for 2 years a post-doctoral fellowship at Max-Planck-Institut für Immunbiologie in Freiburg (Germany).

Jacky has extensive experience in pharmaceutical industry, mainly in line and project management. From 2007 to 2018, he successful worked as the director of biopharmaceutical production & development department at Celonic Deutschland GmbH & Co KG (previously Glycotope Biotechnology). His main working area includes the scale-up and GMP production of recombinant proteins from mammalian cells (fed-batch and perfusion processes) as well as aseptical production of drug products for use in clinical studies. Previously he worked 3 years as project manager at mtm Laboratories (now Roche Diagnostics) and 9 years as head of cell biology at Pharmacia Diagnostics/Pfizer.
